Top 5 Pre Wedding Shooting Spots in Prague
Prague, a city of romance and history, offers some of the most picturesque locations perfect for pre wedding photoshoots. Known for its stunning vistas and architectural elegance, Prague provides a diverse palette of backdrops for couples looking to capture their love story. There are many enchanting streets and timeless architecture; it is a photographer’s paradise.
We have visited Prague many times, and it remains one of our favorite cities for pre wedding shoots. Today, I will share the top 5 pre-wedding shooting spots in Prague with you. Please note that these suggestions are based on our personal preferences.
Old Town Square
Old Town Square is the epitome of Prague’s vibrant heritage, marked by the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Framed by baroque buildings and the famous Church of Our Lady before Týn, the square is a hive of activity and color, making it perfect for vibrant street photography. Capture the energy of the local street performers, the seasonal markets, or the tranquil early mornings when the light washes over the cobblestones. You can also rent a Carriage here for the photo shoot.
Astronomical Clock Tower
The Astronomical Clock Tower isn’t just a key historical sight; it’s also one of the most spectacular places to photograph in Prague. Located in the heart of the Old Town, the clock tower provides a panoramic view of the city draped in gothic architecture. For the best shots, climb to the top during the golden hour when the city basks in the golden glow of the setting sun. The intricate details of the clock and the bustling square below offer a dynamic composition that is hard to match.
Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge is more than just a connection between two parts of the city; it’s a historical monument that offers unrivaled views of the Vltava River and the grandeur of Prague Castle. Early morning is the ideal time to photograph the bridge to avoid crowds and catch the soft morning light illuminating the statues and the river’s gentle flow. Each angle offers a new perspective, whether it’s the silhouette of the bridge at sunrise or the detailed artwork of its statues.
Swan River
Although not as famous as other spots, the area along the river near Charles Bridge, affectionately known as Swan River, is where serene nature meets urban scenery. Here, swans glide gracefully on the water, against the backdrop of the city’s historic skyline. However, these swans come and go, and sometimes you may not see any swans at all. This spot is perfect for those looking to add a natural element to their cityscape photos, offering a peaceful contrast to the bustling city streets.
Prague Castle
Dominating the city’s skyline, Prague Castle is not only an important cultural institution but also a magnificent spot for photography. From its position, you can capture sweeping views of the city, or focus on the details of its gothic architecture. The castle grounds are also worth exploring with a camera in hand, especially during sunset when the last rays of the sun cast a soft, golden light on the ancient stone walls.
Terasa U Prince
I have another tip for you. Terasa U Prince is a hidden gem, not widely known among tourists, yet it boasts one of the top 15 hotel rooftop views in the world. This rooftop restaurant offers a stunning view of Old Town Square, making it an ideal spot for panoramic pre wedding photos. Capture the vibrant essence of Prague from this unique vantage point.

My Personal Thoughts on Pre Wedding Shoot in Prague:-
Photography Paradise: Prague is one of the best places I’ve been to for shooting. The architecture is stunning, providing a magnificent backdrop for any photo.
Ground Transport: It’s a compact city, mostly walkable, which is great for photographers looking to capture spontaneous moments. Trains, buses, and cabs are available around the town.
Accommodation: Staying around the Old Town Square area is highly recommended as it saves a lot of travel time, keeping you close to many scenic spots.
Best Time for Pre Wedding Shoots: Spring or autumn are the ideal times for a pre-wedding shoot due to the comfortable weather and the beautiful natural lighting. Summer can be too crowded, which might affect your shoot.
Shooting Tips: Try to start early in the day to avoid crowds and ensure you have a clear view of Prague’s iconic spots.
